April 1st kicked off National Poetry Writing Month. A bunch of Weird Sisters are NaPoWriMoing over at GirlPoWriMo—stop by for fresh feminist poems popping up every day!

The Poetry Foundation blog’s group of featured writers this month is omg radness—Jennifer Tamayo delivers a message from The Mongrel Coalition Against Gringpo, Trisha Low reminds us that “Poetry Is Not the Final Girl,” and Gina Myers tells us what she’ll do while she’s not at AWP.

For those of us who are going to AWP this week, come say hi to WEIRD SISTER!

In other literary news, Morgan Parker is launching her new book, Other People’s Comfort Keeps Me Up At Night, into outer space tonight in NYC.

Read The Volta’s great review of Rosa Alcalá’s Undocumentaries.

The new issue of Poetry magazine is dedicated to a “new American poetry in the age of hip-hop.”

The legendary queer/feminist road show Sister Spit is touring the West Coast.

Krystal Languell talks with Rachel Levitsky about Levitsky’s novel, The Story of My Accident Is Ours.

Johanna Fateman writes about art, feminism, social media, Body Anxiety and more.

Sonya Vatomsky and Kia Groom on dead women as props in Collin Kelley’s poem “Saving Anne Sexton.”

It was only years later that I put together the pieces—that Britney was, in a way, my first love.” I love Sarah Sansolo’s personal essay about Brit-Brit over on The Rumpus.

Did You Know: that vampires are film’s most feminist monsters?

Women Action & the Media’s WAM! Entertainment Guide for March is here with feminist music, TV, and movie recs.

Calls for submissions & participants: Send your manuscripts to Coconut Books this month, and your essays on fatphobia and fat positivity on screen to BitchFlicks. The NYC organization Girls Write Now is accepting applications for mentors and mentees—I had the great experience of being a mentor a few years ago, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves writing, feminist community, and the intense magic of legitimate girl power.

What did we miss this week? Let us know in the comments! <3
